Audio/Video Production

Audio/Video Production is the core of Optimum Learning’s curriculum.  This is a  hands-on course that introduces students to key photographic concepts and the basics of shooting and editing film and digital video.  While cinematography focuses primarily on the ways to capture dramatic elements through the use of cameras, video production concentrates on how to create certain types of films and videos.

From conceptualizing an original idea, to scripting, producing, directing, lighting, shooting, recording audio, editing, designing graphics, performing and marketing– this course is all inclusive.  This curriculum will teach the student ways to accomplish the best video and audio possible while coping with all the challenges of shooting in controlled and uncontrolled environments.  Students will be cast and crew for their own productions and work with industry standard equipment.   They will use digital still cameras while studying photographic exposure and composition, and digital video cameras to create documentaries, commercials and short films.  As they learn to design graphics for their projects, students gain experience with several computer programs including Photoshop, AVID, and other Adobe products.  Audio/Video Production is offered as a 16-week program or as an accelerated 8-week summer course.
